Cr:YAG is an excellent passive Q-switch crystal, for 0.8 to 1.2 µm lasers: Nd:YAG, Yb:YAG. Cr:YAG is chemically stable, durable, UV resistant, good thermal conductivity and high damage threshold. Cr:YAG can also be used as a laser crystal tuable at 1340 - 1580nm.
