CLBO Crystal & its Applications
CLBO (CsLiB6O10) is another nonlinear optical crystal from the borate family developed by the Chen team. Compared to BBO and LBO, CLBO has a shorter UV cutoff wavelength, making it a good choice for 4th and 5th harmonic generation of Nd:YAG to genenate DUV high power laser. The effective nonlinear coefficient of CLBO is larger than that of LBO, while smaller than that of BBO. However, CLBO exhibits a greater spectral and temperature acceptance, larger angular tolerance, and a smaller walk-off angle than BBO. These advantages allow CLBO to achieve greater SHG conversion efficiency than BBO, particularly with ultra-fast lasers.
