Dielectric mirror consist of multilayers of dielectric films deposited on a substrate, usually fused silica which provides excellent thermal stability. Both bragg mirror, where all optical layer thickness values are just one-quarter of the design wavelength, and more complicated multilayer structure designs are used to obtain desired reflection.
Due to the structure of the multilayer deielectric coating, the spectral range over which the mirror is highly reflective shifts toward longer wavelengths as the angle of incidence decreases to zero.
Dielectric multilayer mirrors can be made on both plane and curved surfaces. See <Laser Cavity Mirror>
