This laser mirror uses common design dielectric coating, also called Bragg mirror, where all optical layer thickness values are just one-quarter of the design wavelength. This design of laser mirror leads to the highest possible reflectivity for a given number of layer pairs and given materials.
Dielectric multilayer mirrors can be made on both plane and curved surfaces.
For angled incidence of light on a dielectric mirror, the spectral range over which the mirror is highly reflective shifts toward shorter wavelengths as the angle of incidence increases.
